I have a TV in my room now. It is wonderful.
I'm not sure how counterproductive it is. Usually I just sit in the living room to watch TV where I cannot effectively multitask. Now I can still sit at my desk with the TV on in the background, which I can easily choose to ignore, without the inconvenience of wandering between rooms.

your roommate is sad. you should get him some boba to keep him company in the "living room"
i'm pretty sure a tv in your room will lead to detrimental consequences.
don't listen to the haters kenrick, the tv-in-my-room development has been a fortuitous one.
